Youth Program Development Intern

Responsibilities:
Assist Team Lead
Participate in supporting tweens & teens in summer program and regular afterschool programing
Track hours in volunteer database
Interact and build relationships with AKYR staff and volunteers
Research and implement new ways of reaching out to potential volunteers
Help develop and implement ceremonies and events

Qualifications:
Passion for youth development and volunteerism
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Criminal background check

Reports to: Program Director
Deadline: Open until filled
Duration of Internship: 4-8 months, depending on availability
Hours per week: 1-3 days per week/5-15 hours per week, depending on school requirements
Stipend: Unpaid; school credit can be earned for this internship in most cases


Digital Marketing intern

Adolescents Know Your Rights is looking for Social Media Marketing Intern to help establish, grow and manage social media accounts for a variety of small to medium projects. Ideal candidates must be well-organized, dependable, and social media savvy. We are a young non-profit and looking to expand our Team immediately so we're looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

REQUIREMENTS
Strong writing and journalism skills
Strong skills in Microsoft Office
Familiar with social media and social marketing strategies (especially Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram)
Interest in social media data and analytics
Ability to perform research or interviews for articles and content
Ability to interact with social media for AKYR

It would be nice if you....
Familiar with Facebook Ad Pixel, Familiar google analytics, take good photos and video

RESPONSIBILITIES
Build a Social Media Marketing portfolio/Assist in maintaining social media accounts
Create engaging visual content
Help to build clients social media presence by following, sharing and commenting, engaging posts for social media accounts, and write tweets
Work with Digital Marketing Team on other writing/marketing projects
Interact with clients

Starting at 5-15 hours per week, schedule flexible TBD; potential for work study hire after 96 hours

Event Planning Intern

This position focuses on planning the events and activities of Adolescents Know Your Rights. The purpose of this position is for the intern to learn about event planning for various AKYR programs. Interns will have the opportunity to assist the program Director with the planning of events and activities; this includes correspondence, logistics, and creating event advertisements.

High School Diploma or GED required;
One years of office environment experience
Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work with little supervision
Excellent public relations and communication skills required, including both written and oral skills
Possess the ability to multi-task and work well within a team environment
High attention to detail required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Belief and adherence to the Mission of Adolescents Know Your Rights

HTE 2010 - Event Industry
HTE 2571 - Event Project Management *
HTE 3010 - Event Planning
HTE 3634 - Event Support Systems *
